The Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam (AIP) is primarily focused on astrophysical research studying various aspects of the universe, from the Sun to the development of the cosmos. All of this is at a historical campus that dates back to the beginning of the 20th century.

The most historic building on the campus is the Humboldt-Haus house, which houses the second largest telescope in the country, just after the Großen Refraktor, on its roof.

Several other telescopes and domes dot the area, including a large one that houses the institute library. The Spectrumweg is also a feature that can be found in this place.

Know Before You Go

The whole campus is part of the nearby Park Babelberg, which is a world heritage site and therefore accessible to all within office hours.
